Don't Pretend To Know
People who don't know how to pretend to understand are ridiculous and annoying. In our life and work, we must not pretend to understand and think we can muddle through. After a long time, there will be a time when the original is revealed. So, what kind of harm will it do to our cause if we don't know how to pretend to understand and make up for the number?
Not to be trusted. There is a famous saying in the fourth chapter of the Vajra Sutra: "straight heart is the Dao field." If everyone is true and good, then the three thousand world will be very harmonious. So honesty is the basic rule of life. The foundation of trust between people is honesty. Who will trust a person full of lies? Pretending to know nothing at work and pretending to be an expert may be able to muddle through at first, or even better. But after a long time, no one will trust anyone who has no real talent and learning, and is not willing to do practical things.
It's not taken seriously. People who are not trusted will not be valued by colleagues and superiors, which is a devastating blow to one's career. This shows how serious the harm of pretending to be ignorant is. If you want to be valued and respected in the workplace, you should find a way to increase your real talents and work hard. You should not pretend to know everything just for the sake of face, for the sake of temporary "embarrassment", and you have lost the chance of practical improvement.
It's hard to learn. Buddhism stresses struggle and progress. Among the six paramita, there is the refined paramita, which is one of the six important ways for a Bodhisattva to become a Buddha. The Buddha's experience of becoming a Tao is the best example of the refined and perfect. In real life, all the people who have made achievements in their work and study are all earned by doing things steadfastly and studying conscientiously. For those who are willing to put on airs and only pay attention to superficial Kung Fu, where can they have the determination to study and achieve their career?
His character is in doubt. Business is small, reputation is big. Without a career, we can do it all over again. Without credibility, it's hard to have a foothold in the world. In today's society, there are many fake experts and scholars. They wanted to make a lot of money through this title, but after they were exposed, their moral character was seriously questioned by the public. Let alone continue to earn money, they did not even have the capital to gain a foothold in the society. They really did not get what they lost.
